Sculpin
Banded
- Found throughout much of Alabama, the banded sculpin prefers cool, clean water and requires cobble, rubble, and flat rocks in which to hide; it can be distinguished from the mottled sculpin by a less robust body.
Mottled
- In Alabama, the mottled sculpin is only found in the Tennessee River basin and the upper Coosa system.
Pygmy
- Pygmy sculpin are endemic to Alabama, living only in Coldwater Spring and its adjacent downstream spring run, which is a tributary to Choccolocco Creek.
