Certified Trophy Angler Catches

Alabama Certified Trophy Anglers of Blue Catfish

Certified Trophy Anglers have had their catch of a blue catfish 70 pounds or larger or 51 inches or longer certified by the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division. (Photographs required of the fish next to a ruler and with the angler, see rules.) Certified Master Anglers have had their catch of a blue catfish 50 pounds or larger or 46 inches or longer certified by the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division.

John Nichols caught this Alabama record blue catfish from Holt Reservoir on March 10, 2012. The official weight is 120 pounds and 4 ounces. He used 40-pound line, a circle hook and chicken gizzard.

On October 23, 2009, Kevin Lade caught this 65-pound blue catfish bank fishing on Redstone Arsenal on Wheeler Lake.This catch earned him a Trophy Angler Certificate.

Regina Rhodes caught this 62-pound blue catfish from Lake Wilson on July 14, 2009, and she received a Trophy Angler Certificate.
