Longnose Gar caught by Mr. Zyck
This longnose gar caught in February 2007 from Pickwick Lake by Mr. Zyck from Chicago on 8 pound test line probably weighed close to the state record of 32 pounds, 14 ounces. It was 62 inches long.

 
This longnose gar was caught using cut shad while catfishing on August 15, 2008. Mark Smith caught the gar from a private pier on Canoe Creek in St. Clair County
