Sturgeon

Alabama Sturgeon - Alabama sturgeon are endemic to (only found in) the Mobile basin and are on the federal endangered species list.

Gulf Sturgeon - Gulf sturgeon are a huge coastal species that are on the federal threatened species list.

Lake Sturgeon - Formerly native to the Tennessee River and Coosa River, the lake sturgeon is being restocked into the upper Coosa River.

Shovelnose Sturgeon - Extirpated from Alabama, the shovelnose is most similar to the Alabama sturgeon, but the shovelnose sturgeon has a smaller eye and other differentiating characteristics.
