Recycle Fishing Line

Recycle When You Re-spool

It's hard to imagine 7,000,000 miles of recycled fishing line, enough to fill two reels for every angler in the United States. That's what Berkley has recycled since they began recycling nylon fishing line in 1990.  Berkley has used this line to build fish habitat. Our congratulations to all who have helped support this effort.

Alabama anglers have a chance to recycle their fishing line. In Alabama, anglers can recycle in Montgomery at the main Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Office on the fifth floor of the Folsom Building, 64 North Union Street, by the main elevator.  Fishing line recycle bins are also available at Wind Creek State Park on Lake Martin.

Anglers who do not find these sites convenient can mail their used line prepaid to:
Pure Fishing
Recycling Collection Center
1900 18th Street
Spirit Lake, Iowa 51360

Fishing tackle retailers may contact Berkley and request a Recycle Collection Bin. Participating retailers receive recycling materials and shipping at no charge. Interested groups or individuals can participate by displaying the Berkley Recycling Poster, collecting used fishing line, and returning it prepaid to the above address.
