Swamp Smartweed

Scientific Name: Polygonum hydropiperoids

Distinguishing Characteristics:

•Leaves alternate with swollen ring around stem at leaf base, characteristic of smartweeds; however, leaves narrow and strap-like.

•Stems may have one to several racemes of tiny white to pink flowers.

•Growth habit characteristic of Polygonum spp.
