Distinguishing Characteristics:
•Actually a sedge having solid stems that are triangular in cross-section. •Narrow leaf blades originating in cluster at base of plants. •Seedheads are branched with loose clusters of spikelets at end of each branch; spikelets brown and 1/2 to 1-inch long. •Can form dense, grassy thickets along shoreline and in shallow water. |
