Scientific Name: Scirpus spp.  

Distinguishing Characteristics:
•Leaves are usually reduced to sheaths appearing like a a cluster of long, leafless stems; stems are somewhat triangular. 
•Inflorescence usually at tip of stems.
•Moist soil to shallow water; found in acidic to neutral waters.
