Scientific Name: Nuphar luteum  

Distinguishing Characteristics:
•Leaves spade-shaped with cleft to center.
•Leaves can be flat on surface, but usually become raised out of the water and pointing up.
•Small, yellow flower appears to not be opened fully; flowers attached to thick stalk just above surface.
