The certified largemouth bass lake record for Guntersville Lake is 14-8. The Guntersville spotted bass record is four-pounds, 11-ounces.  We are still looking to certify lake record smallmouth bass (5-pound minimum). We also have an angler recognition program for other sport fish.

 Alabama Student Anglers Bass Association Tournament
Guntersville has big spotted bass too. Terry Stephens fished the Alabama Student Anglers Bass Association tournament on March 15, 2014, and he landed this huge 5.57-pound spotted bass for Cherokee County High School.

2013 Rattletrap Classic
The 2013 Rat-L-Trap Classic was held at Lake Guntersville on Feb 2, 2013. Anglers from over 9 states came in to see who would be the best on the Rat-L-Trap that day. Nineteen teams weighed-in over 20lb. bags with the big-¬fish weighing 9.6 lbs. And, this was with water temps at 49 degrees and snow coming down in the morning.
