The certified largemouth bass lake record for Guntersville Lake is 14-8. The Guntersville spotted bass record is four-pounds, 11-ounces.  We are still looking to certify lake record smallmouth bass (5-pound minimum). We also have an angler recognition program for other sport fish.

John Boyles caught this six-pound, 15-ounce largemouth bass on a Rapala Shad Rap during March of 2011 at Preston Island.  The fifteen-inch size limit for largemouth and smallmouth bass at Guntersville Lake works because of the productive waters of the lake and because anglers are good about releasing smaller bass.
