Bonner's Landing Boat Ramp and Fishing Access on the Coosa River also known as Bonner's Point

Note: On Monday, August 10, 2009, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division begins improvements at Bonners Landing Public Boat Ramp on Lake Jordan in Elmore County. The project will include multiple phases beginning with the construction of a 60-foot-wide launching ramp capable of accommodating up to four boaters at a time. The ramps will be constructed in August and will be set into place during the draw-down in mid September. Traffic will then be re-routed to improve traffic flow to and from the new ramps. Although there is currently no projected completion date, it is expected to be ready for use well in advance of the 2010 spring fishing rush, see news release.

Protect Alabama Waters and Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers!
As Alabamians, we love to spend time on the water. Protecting these resources is an important part of our overall enjoyment. A concern we must all address is the spreading of harmful plants, animals and other organisms. These aquatic nuisance species can hitch a ride on our clothing, boats, and items used in the water. When we go to another lake or stream, the nuisance species can be released. And, if the conditions are right, these introduced species can become established and create drastic results.

So what can we do? By following simple procedures each time we leave the water, we can stop aquatic hitchhikers.
