Oscar Tolbert caught this bowfin in Tensaw River just north of Cliff’s Landing while bass fishing with a 4” ZOOM Green Pumpkin Seed Lizard.
 
This pretty longear sunfish was caught and released in the Tensaw River of the Mobile Delta in April of 2011.
Redspotted Sunfish from the Mobile Delta
Redspotted sunfish
are very unusual in most of the United States, but they are common in the Mobile Delta. This one was caught on March 29, 2011.
Largemouth bass from the Mobile Delta
The Mobile Delta has lots of largemouth bass, but a fourteen-inch bass in the Delta is a good one, March 29, 2011.

 

Alligator Gar from the Mobile Delta
The Alabama record alligator gar was caught in August of 2004 from the Tensaw River by Michael Houseknecht of Mobile, 151-pounds, 5-ounces

Alligator Gar
Bow angler, Clayton Hadley, shot a large alligator gar near the mouth of the Apalachee River in August of 2008. The fish was about 77-3/4 inches long, and the unofficial weight was 134 pounds.
