Geneva County Lake near Enterprise, Ala., will be open during daylight hours Thursday through Sunday from December 5 through December 19, 2013, and daylight hours Thursday through Sunday from January 10 through January 31, 2014. On February 1, 2014, Geneva County Lake returns to its normal fishing season schedule.

“Daniel Drake is the new lake manager, and he is looking forward to allowing anglers to visit,” said Ken Weathers, Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division (WFF) District IV Fisheries Supervisor. “Anglers often have days of good fishing during the winter at Geneva County Lake.”

Geneva County Lake is comprised of two lakes. The lower 35-acre lake is known for its catfish, while the upper lake 33-acre lake is known for bass, bream and catfish. The lakes are 15 miles northwest of the city of Geneva and 20 miles southwest of Enterprise.

Geneva County Lake amenities include mowed areas along the shoreline for bank fishing, fishing piers, a boat launch and boat rental. A concession building also offers drinks, snacks, restrooms, bait and tackle. For more information, visit
