Proficiency Test Rules

Oak Mountain State Park Regulated Archery Deer Hunt

1.   Shooter must show picture identification prior to attempting proficiency test.

2.   Shooter may view kill zone marked on a target on display in the proficiency testing area. 

3.   Shooter shall not use broadheads, field points only.

4.   Shooter must shoot one arrow at each of five targets.  Arrows will be pulled from all five targets at one time.

5.   Shooter must have a foot touching each of the shooting stakes.

6.   Shooter must have three arrows in kill zone to pass proficiency test.

7.   Shooter will be allowed to shoot proficiency test a second time if he/she is unable to successfully put 3 of 5 arrows in targets on the first attempt.

8.   A kill is any arrow that touches or is inside the vital area outlined with a thin black line.

9.   No practice shots.
