Emergency Amendment to Wildlife Management Areas and Sanctuaries

An emergency amendment to Rule 220-2-.55-.127ER, “Wildlife Management Areas and Sanctuaries Established,” was adopted on August 31, 2006, by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. This amendment addresses an immediate danger to the public safety and welfare regarding the revision of the names and maps of the wildlife management areas and sanctuaries to provide the most current establishment and maintenance of those areas.

Because various hunting seasons are opening soon on the management areas across the state, these regulations are necessary to control the activities on the areas and to protect the general public. The amendment was signed by M. Barnett Lawley, Commissioner of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
