Press ReleaseView print versionHelp Improving Your Wildlife Habitat is a Phone Call AwayJuly 25, 2011 Many Alabama landowners have an interest in improving wildlife habitat for one or more species on their property. However, they may not have all the information needed to develop and implement a management plan that meets their goals. Landowner interest varies from deer, turkey, and quail to other species such as bluebirds, woodpeckers, purple martins and more. The Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries staff of professional wildlife biologists is available to assist landowners, hunting clubs, and others interested in enhancing wildlife management activities on a particular piece of property. Wildlife biologists are available to provide guidance on activities such as controlled burning, herbicide applications, disking, plantings, food sources, forest management, harvest management strategies, and various other activities that can benefit one or more species.
