Mark your calendars so you won't miss the Annual Alabama Coastal BirdFest, October 18-21, 2007, to be held in Spanish Fort, Fairhope and Mobile. The BirdFest will include guided birding trips to some of the region's most important sites for bird migrations, plus seminars, lectures, workshops and fun kids' activities. Birding enthusiasts of all ages won't want to miss this wonderful opportunity to learn about the variety of bird species found along the beautiful Alabama Coast.

If you're looking for a perfect activity to introduce youngsters to the tradition of bird hunting and spend quality time with family members and friends while at the same time teaching them hunting safety, then Alabama Youth Dove Hunts are for you. For the seventh consecutive year, the Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is sponsoring Youth Dove Hunts statewide. To date, over 10,000 young hunters have participated in this annual event. Of those, 2,695 were new to the sport of hunting.
2007 Alligator Seasons Successful The fortunate Alabama hunters who were drawn for alligator harvest permits had another rewarding year with an 84-percent success rate on the Mobile-Tensaw Delta. [read more]
