In cooperation with landowners, local volunteers, businesses and other organizations, the Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources provides youth dove hunt opportunities across the state. A parent or adult at least 21 years old is allowed to register and bring up to two youth hunters and participate in the hunts. The requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Youth must be 15 or younger
  • Youth must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years old or their parent with a valid state hunting license and a Harvest Information Program (H.I.P.) stamp
  • All are encouraged to wear eye protection and ear plugs.

For those registering for a youth dove hunt following a hunt you just attended this past weekend, registration for you will open 48 hours following this past Staurday's hunt start time.

We are implementing a new registration process this year. You will need to have a Conservation ID (CID) to register. Additionally, this year once you successfully register for a hunt, you will not be able to register for a second hunt 48 hours after the hunt start time of your registered hunt has past.

The below table mentions the number of groups that can register for a youth dove hunt. A group is the registered adult at least 21 years old or parent and their youth(s) participant(s) 15 years old or younger. A registered adult or parent can bring two youth participants. The registered adult or parent is allowed to hunt.
