Flatwoods Baptist  Child Care Enjoys Creek Kids, June 23, 2011

Sport Fish Restoration

\
The young students of Flatwoods Baptist Child Care were very attentive in the old schoolhouse.

Students used a model with Kool-Aid and cocoa to understand nonpoint pollution.

Students really thought it was cool that groundwater came out of the ground as a spring.
Larry Haag helps with Flatwoods Baptist Child Care.

The water is very different below the dam.

A dam slows the water and prevents animals from moving upstream.

This lake is so old it has filled up with dirt.

Students found animals like snails in the flume.

A student was amazed to catch an animal.

Even the teachers enjoyed looking at the snails.

Two students are chosen to help seine fish.

Other students watch patiently from the bridge.

Banded sculpin and Alabama Darter were the two types of fish caught in the seine at Tannehill today.

Mr. Maurice Jackson works with students to catch fish.
