Abrams Elementary Enjoys the "Pond Owner Mentoring Program" October 20, 2010

Students find their safety circle.	Mrs. Morrison discuss angling safety with youth.
Now it's time to learn how to cast a rod.	Mrs. Morrison demonstrates another cast.
Students practice catching and hitting targets prior to fishing.	Wearing eye protection while fishing is highly recommended.

Applying sunscreen and insect repellent prior to fishing is recommended by instructors.	"Make sure you look over your shoulder before you cast your rod," replied instructor Mr. Moss.
Fishing is a great way to bond with a family member.	During the class students learn to tie knots and bait their hooks.


Bluegill were caught today.	Largemouth bass were caught too.

Parents enjoy fishing as much as the youth.	Fishing is a natural stress reliever. Wow! Another beautiful day to fish.
I mentioned to my mom that we can improve our skills if we download the, "How to fish Booklet."	This largemouth bass was the largest one caught today. "I am the man," the student replied. Teaching a child to fish builds self-confidence.
