Annual Kinder Prep Fishing Trip

This is Tuscaloosa Kinder Prep's 4th year of enjoying a fishing trip with Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Maurice Jackson, Aquatic Education Biologist at Marion Hatchery.

This year the group that enjoyed the trip was the largest! They began with a hayride through the fishery to the holding tanks where Mr. Jackson "put the fish to sleep" so the children could touch and inspect the fish closer.  They headed outside to learn different fishing methods and how to cast a rod and reel; then they were off to the ponds to bait their hooks and catch bass! Every child caught 2-5 fish each!! The trip was concluded with a picnic lunch before heading back to Tuscaloosa. A great time was had by all; Kinder Prep students, parents, grandparents, siblings and university volunteers.

We had a great time fishing!
