Charles Henderson Middle School in conjunction with the Alabama Department of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries has been conducting an Angling/Fishing class in its Physical Education classes. Various topics as it relates to casting, Alabama Fishing and Boating laws, freshwater species, habitat, job opportunities and services provided by the State of Alabama have been discussed. Thank you to Jerry Beckett Insurance Agency and Troy Bank and Trust for sponsored the event.

Clay Hill Farms located near Banks hosted 34 students from Charles Henderson Middle School, Friday, April 24th. The Trojan Fishing Expo offered hands-on experiences to the students as it relates to fishing safely, tackle selection, casting, handling and care of fish, fish habitat, baits, conservation methods, fish cleaning, and harvesting of fish. Guest speakers were John Dorrill III, County Executive Director of the United States Department of Agriculture for Crenshaw Country, Ken Weathers, District VI Fisheries Supervisor, and Doug Darr, Aquatic Education Coordinator, Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division.
