The largemouth bass seemed to bite on Tuesday.

Casey shows a St. James student how to hold a largemouth bass.

Black crappie were biting too.  Black crappie can affect the predator-prey balance in a pond, so most pond management includes keeping crappie for the table.

Casey helps unhook a black crappie.  Black crappie larger than 6 inches normally eat fish, but this one was caught on a worm.

 
Not everyone wants to bait their own hook.

Trying and learning are the keys to fishing successfully.

 
Only two skills are needed to fish: knot tying and casting.

A St. James student patiently waits for a bite.

Fishing is family fun!

Patience leads to success.

Mr. Doug was concerned this anger was getting pulled into the water.  A big fish? straightened this angler's hook.
