Sport Fish Restoration

Assistant Hatchery Supervisor Bill Stark brought a live fish display for the scouts.

After seeing the two fish displays, scouts are better able to identify fish found in Alabama.

Scouts learned about the basic responsiblities of the Division of Wildlife & Freshwater Fisheries.

Biologist Aide Brenda Morrison shows off a favorite fish for many anglers, the bluegill.

The largemouth bass is Alabama's state freshwater fish.

Mrs. Morrison gives scouts advice from the fishing handbook.

Everyone was excited to answer Mrs. Morrison's questions.

Mrs. Morrison reminds scouts to stay hydrated when outdoors. This is one of many things to remember while fishing.

During the presentation, Mrs. Morrison shows scouts several items that can make fishing more pleasant. Don't forget the insect repellent!

These scouts learned how to fish safely and responsibly.

Biologist Jerry Moss teaches the scouts to cast by playing a game of Backyard Bass.

Scouts stand in hula hoops to learn proper casting techniques and prevent lines from becoming tangled.

A young angler proudly shows off her catch.

Everyone got a chance to catch a Backyard Bass.

Girl Scouts had a great time learning how to fish at Talladega in 2012!
