The following meetings were previously scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2017. The new date and times for the meetings are Friday, October 6, 2017, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Alabama Marine Resources Division (AMRD) will host two oyster meetings on Friday, October 6, 2017, at the South Bay Coastal Response Center in Coden (7385 Hwy 188, Coden, Ala., 36523).
Both meetings are open to the public.
Public Oyster Harvest Meeting:
The first meeting will be from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and will focus on updating the community about present AMRD activities related to management of Alabama’s oyster fisheries and to receive public input.
AMRD representatives will discuss prospective public oyster reef openings for the fall harvest, provide information about where and how oyster management stations will be operated, answer any questions pertaining to oyster management zones, and discuss oyster related projects.
Oyster Aquaculture Meeting:
The second meeting will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and will focus on providing information relevant to community members engaging in on bottom and off bottom oyster aquaculture activities.
