Walls of Jericho Sims, Swaim, and Johnson AdditionDate of purchase: May 28, 2010 Location: Jackson County; T02S, R04E, Section 36; T02S, R04E, Sections 1 and 2 Acreage: 537 WALLS OF JERICHO SIMS, SWAIM, AND JOHNSON ADDITION in Jackson County consists of 537 acres adjoining the Skyline Wildlife Management Area. The tract is comprised of mountainous and wooded terrain, hosting caves, springs, rocky bluffs as well as grassy coves and riparian forests bordering Estill Fork, which is a principal tributary of the Paint Rock River. In partnership with the Alabama Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, the Alabama Forestry Commission, the Alabama Forest Resource Center and the Forever Wild Program, this tract was acquired in part through a $640,000 U.S. Forest Service Forest Legacy grant.
