COOPERATIVE ENDANGERED SPECIES CONSERVATION FUND
TRADITIONAL SECTION 6 |
 |
Funding is available through the Endangered Species Act (ESA) to assist States with implementation of conservation projects for listed species and at-risk species. The Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division (AWFF) is responsible for administering these funds. Funded activities include habitat restoration, species status surveys, public education and outreach, captive propagation and reintroduction, nesting surveys, genetic studies and development of management plans. Specifically, projects must address the conservation of specific native species of fishes, crayfishes, mollusks, amphibians, reptiles, birds, or mammals, with special emphasis on federally and/or state-listed species or State Species of High Conservation Concern.
