STATUS:
Uncommon statewide, but possibly less secure in Coastal Plain, where it may be more locally distributed in disjunct populations. Secretive and infrequently encountered. Alabama distribution and ecology poorly understood. Low Conservation Concern.
HABITAT:
Inhabits wet forested areas with sphagnum, often in stream floodplains.
