SCIENTIFIC NAME: Lasiurus seminolus
STATUS: Found statewide. Lowest Conservation Concern.
HABITAT: Common in mixed coniferous and deciduous woodlands, often associated with Spanish moss.
FEEDING HABITS: Diet consists of flies, beetles, dragonflies, and hymenopterans. Mostly forages at treetop levels in forests, although they also fly over open water, forest clearings, and along forest edges.
LIFE HISTORY AND ECOLOGY: Parturition occurs late-May and early June, with two to four young born.
