BUYING LICENSES
The purchase of Alabama hunting and fishing licenses not only supports game and sportfish population research and management, it pays for research and habitat restoration for nongame fish and wildlife. Now you can also support the restoration of aquatic habitat, culture of rare fish, snails and mussels, and kids fishing, by purchasing a car tag.

The purchase of Alabama hunting and fishing licenses are available in all sections of the state at approximately 1,200 special license agents in many sporting goods stores, discount stores, marinas, etc., and at all county courthouses. It is also available on-line (2% fee) and by telephone ($3.95 fee).
Non-resident licenses may also be purchased by mail from the License Section, Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural resources, 64 N. Union Street., Montgomery, AL 36130. Orders by mail must include applicant's address, driver's license number, proper payment and complete physical description including height, weight, hair, and eye color and date of birth. Non-drivers must submit acceptable proof of current residence.
It is illegal to willfully or knowingly make a false statement to a license agent when purchasing a license. It is also illegal to lend, borrow, sell, buy, rent, or use another person's license to hunt, fish or trap. Persons without Alabama driver's license must present proof of residency to probate judge or license commissioner to purchase a hunting license.
