Certified Trophy Anglers' Catches

Alabama Trophy Angler and State Record Certified Catches of Black Crappie

Certified Trophy Anglers have had their catch of a black crappie 3.5 pounds or larger or 17 inches or longer certified by the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division. (Photographs required of the fish next to a ruler and with the angler, see rules.) Certified Master Anglers have had their catch of a black crappie 2.5 pounds or larger or 15 inches or longer certified by the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division.

Cleve Messer caught this four-pound black crappie from Weiss Lake on March 11, 2013.


Michael Weatherspoon caught this 2.98-pound, 17-3/8-inch black crappie from Lake Neely Henry on October 24, 2009, which earned him a Trophy Angler Certificate based upon the fish's length.
