We are still looking to certify lake record largemouth bass (10-pound minimum). We also have an angler recognition program for other sport fish.

fishing has gotten very popular as the bass have grown.

Barbour County Lake has lots of bass and some big bass too.
Philip Duke, Lake Manager, shows an eight pound largemouth bass that was caught and released at Barbour County Lake.

Anglers are required to weigh out the fish they catch for management purposes.

Redear sunfish (shellcracker)
make for some great eating.

Channel catfish
are stocked each year, and the limit is six per angler per day.
