Flood-Closed Baldwin County Waterways Reopened For Vessels and Watercraft

Due to the flooding conditions in certain waters in Baldwin County, it was necessary for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to close by emergency regulation, the following waters to vessels and watercraft:

1. All waters of this state north of U.S. Highway 98 Bridge in Fish River.

2. All waters of this state in the Styx River south of Baldwin County Highway 64 Bridge to the Perdido River.

Today, Conservation Commissioner Barnett Lawley announced, “The public is hereby notified that those waters are now reopened to public use, effective immediately.”

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources promotes wise stewardship, management and enjoyment of Alabama’s natural resources through five divisions: Marine Police, Marine Resources, State Parks, State Lands, and Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.
