Fishing Event at East Lake in Birmingham on June 2, 2012

Sport Fish Restoration

These two are enjoying a wonderful day at East Lake in Birmingham. East Lake is one of many small lakes near Birmingham.

Fishing helps to bring families together and allows them to create lasting memories.

Some anglers are more experienced than others. This young man shows off his skills by baiting his own hook. New anglers can pick up some tips by reading the basic fishing handbook.

Some anglers opt for a more direct approach while this young man patiently waits for a bite.

The Birmingham Zoo came to East Lake and brought several different animals including this owl.

Great fishing wasn't the only thing to enjoy at East Lake. This young man enjoyed a hot dog from one of the many vendors on hand.

Not everyone enjoys holding fish. These two pose with their catch including an albino channel catfish.

These two young ladies enjoyed a beautiful day at East Lake with plenty of sunshine. It is always important to remember these tips for safe fishing, which include bringing plenty of sunscreen.

There was a great turnout for the East Lake event!
