Sport Fish Restoration

Students think about habitat in a stream.

Aquatic habitat includes both shallow and deep water and fast moving and slow moving water.

A variety of organisms is a good thing, whether they are colorful or not.

A dam prevents aquatic organisms from moving upstream.  For organisms that travel upstream to spawn, this can be very bad.

Not every student can seine, so they watch from the bridge.

Water quality means taking the watershed approach.

Let's Go Fishing!

Where?

How?

Take someone fishing with you
and make a friend for life.

Anglers may purchase a lifetime fishing or hunting license.  Receive a discount if purchased by age 11.

Rocks give aquatic organisms a place to hide. If dirt or sand washes into a stream, organisms that hide in the rocks have nowhere to live.
