Pickwick Lake’s Rose Trail Public Boat Ramp Reopens Following Renovations
April 06, 2012
The Rose Trail Public Boat Ramp located in Colbert County’s Rose Trail Park at 9395 Riverton Rose Trail, Cherokee, Ala., has reopened after renovations that began in February 2012. The renovations were scheduled in three phases. The first phase, replacing the concrete launching slab, has been completed. The remaining phases include resurfacing the parking area and installing a new courtesy pier; neither will require closure of the facility.
This project was a cooperative effort between the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) and the Colbert County Commission.
“This project would not have been possible without the support of the Colbert County Commission, which was instrumental in making this project possible for the anglers and boaters who fish the Bear Creek area of Pickwick Lake,” said Damon Abernethy, Fisheries Development Supervisor for the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF).
