April 25, 2003

Oak Mountain State Park is the setting for Conservation Celebration Expo 2003 on Saturday, April 26. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to properly shoot a firearm, experience rock climbing, or catch your first fish, the Expo is the place to do all that and more at no cost.

Regardless of age or ability, you can learn how to do many outdoor activities during Expo, all with assistance from the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Conservation personnel and hunter education volunteers will provide instruction on firearm safety before anyone is allowed to participate in the shooting sports. Other activities offered will be wildlife viewing, archery, touch tanks and displays of native Alabama freshwater and saltwater species, equipment displays and primitive camping.
