Federal red snapper season will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from June 16, 2017 until September 4, 2017, including July 3rd and 4th.  Alabama state waters will match the federal season and will close Monday through Thursday beginning Monday, June 19, 2017. The Alabama Marine Resources Division manages Alabama's marine fisheries resources with assessment and monitoring, applied research, and enforcement programs.  The Division offices are located in Gulf Shores and Dauphin Island.  Fishing licenses can be purchased at both locations or online.
