The Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources provides youth dove hunt opportunities across the state each fall. These hunts are only able to take place with the help and cooperation of landowners, volunteers, area businesses, and other organizations.
Hunting requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Youth MUST be 15 or younger
- Youth must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years old or their parent.
- The adult must have a valid state hunting license and a Harvest Information Program (H.I.P.) privilege and is allowed to hunt.
- All are encouraged to wear eye protection and earplugs.

For the Youth Dove Hunts registration:
Registration is First Come, First Serve. Registration for each hunt will remain open until the Monday two weeks before the hunt date. Your registration, when submitted, will be time-stamped, and you will be able to see your spot in the line-up under the “registered hunts” tab. On the Tuesday following registration closing, hunters and alternates will be officially notified of their status and will have 48 hours (24 hours for Sept. 6 & 13 hunts) to officially accept their permit. You will receive an email informing you if you were selected as a hunter, an alternate, or not selected. If you are selected, you will be prompted to click a link and accept your hunt. Hunters will only be allowed to accept one Youth Hunt.
