Until March 20, 2026 12:00 pm
On Friday, March 20, 2026, representatives from the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) and the Town of Dauphin Island will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. to celebrate renovations to the Billy Goat Hole Public Boat Ramp. The media and public are encouraged to attend.
During the Billy Goat Hole renovation project new boat ramps and docks were installed approximately 30 feet further from Bienville Boulevard to allow more room for vehicles to maneuver safely and efficiently, reducing impacts to local traffic. The new docks feature composite decking material and are Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant. Additional updates to the facility include an improved parking area, the addition of an ADA compliant lift, and a new wheelchair ramp that improves access to the restrooms and concession area.
The Billy Goat Hole Boat Ramp is an important asset to local boaters and anglers on Dauphin Island and to those who visit Alabama’s coastal waters to enjoy boating and fishing. As the most used boat ramp in coastal Alabama, the improvements to this facility will benefit the boating and fishing community on the island for decades to come.
Date and Time
The ribbon cutting will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Location
