Have you always wanted to get into backpacking? Here is a great way to start!
Learn all you need to know so that you can head out on your own outdoor adventure! A early Fall backpacking class, and a great class for beginners/intermediate.
Topics covered: backpacking essentials, camping items to choose and use, fire building, cooking, etiquettes, pitching and striking camp, setting up a tent or hammock, and more! Hiking is moderate, about a mile one-way to backpacking campsite.
Date: September 28-29, 2019 (1-night trip)
Time: check in 9 AM on 28; check out the morning of September 29
Where: DeSoto State Park, Fort Payne, Alabama. Meet at DeSoto’s Nature Center, next to the Country Store on County Road 89.
Cost: $85.00 per person– includes all food and supplies.
