Barbour County Lake to Close for Repairs on August 3

Barbour County Public Fishing Lake will temporarily close for repairs starting August 3, 2020. During the closure a leak in the lake’s drainage structure will be repaired. The lake is located at 30 State Lake Rd., in Midway, Alabama. The lake is expected to reopen in the spring of 2023.

The Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) has removed all daily creel limits and length limits for all species of fish at the lake so anglers can make use of the resource before the lake is drained. Anglers must still obtain a $3 fishing permit and possess a valid fishing license. The permit and license are available for purchase at the lake.
