Deer Hunting—This course covers the biology and habits of the white-tailed deer. Equipment, clothing, camouflage, hunting techniques and safety considerations will be discussed. Outdoor session will include scouting, treestand use and safety. Note: only offered in October session.
Squirrel Hunting Class - Learn the different techniques and types of squirrel hunting. The course will cover the difference between stalk hunting and hunting with dogs. Actually see squirrel dogs in action! The course will cover how to field dress squirrels and prepare them for the table as well. Class will be partially indoors and partially out.
Actual Squirrel Hunting — Ten lucky participants will begin their day Saturday with a squirrel hunt from daylight until breakfast. Only pre-requisite is enthusiasm and an Alabama Hunting License. Safety instructions, guides and firearms will be provided. Note: only offered in October session.
Predator Control— Learn basic techniques with a strong focus on the responsible treatment of animals, legal methods, safety, selectivity, and ethical trapper behavior. This course is a two session class, participants are required to take both Session I & Session II. On Friday afternoon (Session I) participants will learn where and how to set traps then return on Saturday morning (Session II) to check the traps.
Talkin’ Turkey—This course covers the biology and habits of the wild turkey. Equipment, clothing, camouflage, hunting strategies, calling techniques, and safety considerations will be discussed. Outdoor session will include examination of turkey sign in the woods. Note: only offered in March session.
Waterfowling— Hunting ducks and geese has always been more about fellowship.This class will introduce participants to different calls and gear. Learn how to set up blinds and decoys to call those ducks in close. Note: only offered in October session.
