Barbour County State Public Fishing Lake

Barbour County State Public Fishing Lake is located 6 miles north of Clayton, Alabama. This 75-acre lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, and channel catfish. Amenities include restrooms, concessions, a boat ramp, and a fishing pier. A fishing license and State Public Fishing Lakes permit is required for ages 16 to 64. Licenses and permits are available from license agents located throughout the state, online, through the Outdoor AL mobile app, at county probate offices, or by calling (888) 848-6887.

The lake is located 6 miles north of Clayton in Midway, Alabama. From Clayton, take Alabama Highway 51 north for 1 mile, then right on County Road 49 for 5.5 miles to Barbour County Lake. From Eufaula, take Highway 82 west for 17 miles, turn left onto County Road 49 for 6.7 miles to Barbour County Lake.
