Geneva County State Public Fishing Lake

Geneva County State Public Fishing Lake is located 15 miles northwest of of Geneva, Alabama. This facility features two lakes stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and crappie. Amenities include restrooms, concessions, a boat ramp, and a fishing pier. A fishing license and State Public Fishing Lakes permit is required for ages 16 to 64. Licenses and permits are available from license agents located throughout the state, online, through the Outdoor AL mobile app, at county probate offices, or by calling (888) 848-6887.

These lakes are located 15 miles northwest of Geneva in Coffee Springs, Alabama. From Geneva, take Highway 27 north for approximately 9 miles. Take a left on County Road 40 and go straight for approximately 4.5 miles (Note: County Road 40 turns into County Road 64 straight through Coffee Springs to Geneva County Lake Road). From Enterprise, take Alabama Highway 27 south for approximately 15 miles. Take a right on County Road 40 through Coffee Springs for 4.5 miles. County Road 40 turns into County Road 64. Geneva Lake will be on the left.

Hours of Operation

Open sunrise to sunset during the following dates.

• February 1 to June 30: Open six days each week (closed Mondays)
• July 1 to November 30: Closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays
• December 1 to  January 31: Closed

Fish Species

Largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and crappie.

Licenses and Permits 

• Fishing license required for anglers ages 16 to 64
• $5 Fishing Permit required for anglers ages 12 and up (Includes launch of personal boat)
• $10 Boat Rental Permit (daily fishing permit also required)
• Fishing Licenses are available for purchase at the lake
