Lee County State Public Fishing Lake

Lee County State Public Fishing Lake is located approximately 12 miles southeast of Auburn, Alabama. This 130-acre lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and crappie. Amenities include restrooms, concessions, a boat ramp, and a fishing pier. A fishing license and State Public Fishing Lakes permit is required for ages 16 to 64. Licenses and permits are available from license agents located throughout the state, online, through the Outdoor AL mobile app, at county probate offices, or by calling (888) 848-6887.

The lake is located approximately 12 miles southeast of Auburn, Alabama. From Auburn, take Moore's Mill Road approximately 12 miles southeast to Lee County Lake (on the right). From Columbus, Georgia, and Phenix City, Alabama, take Highway 80 to Crawford, Alabama. Take a right on Alabama 169.  Go 9 miles and take a left on Stringfellow Road (Lee Road 146). Drive 1.5 miles to Lee County Lake.

Hours of Operation

Open sunrise to sunset during the following dates.

• February 1 to June 30: Open six days each week (closed Mondays)
• July 1 to November 23: Closed Mondays and Tuesdays
• November 24 to January 31: Closed

Fish Species

Largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and crappie.

Licenses and Permits 

• Fishing license required for anglers ages 16 to 64
• $5 Fishing Permit required for anglers ages 12 and up (Includes launch of personal boat)
• $10 Boat Rental Permit (daily fishing permit also required)
• Fishing Licenses are available for purchase at the lake
