Alabama Residents can fish from the bank in their county of residence with hook and line without purchasing a license. Resident must be able to provide reasonable proof of residency (driver's license) while fishing.
Alabama Residents 65 years of age and over are exempt from purchasing the following licenses:
- Hunting (does not include bait privilege or nighttime feral swine or coyote hunting)
- Freshwater Fishing
- Saltwater Fishing (does not include angler registry or reef fish endorsement)
- State Duck Stamp
- Wildlife Management Area

Optional 65+ licenses are available to provide a way for those exempt that wish to continue purchasing annual licenses to support wildlife and fisheries programs. To immediately issue and print your license, click 'Purchase Licenses'.
