Outdoor Photographers Invited to Enter Contest

If you enjoy outdoor photography, why not enter some of your photos in the annual contest sponsored by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources? Winning entries will be published in the February 2005 issue of Outdoor Alabama magazine.
Photo subject categories are (1) Birds, (2) Mammals, (3) Other Wildlife (such as reptiles, amphibians, fish or butterflies, (4) Scenic/Pictorial – photos in which landmarks, scenery or inanimate objects are prominent; (5) Nature-based Activities – people enjoying recreation such as boating, fishing, hiking, and hunting, and (6) Wild Native Flora – wildflowers, foliage, fruiting bodies, other parts of plants or trees. All photos must be taken in
The contest is limited to 35mm color slides or larger format transparencies, or 5x7-inch or larger color prints. Digital images should be at least 300 dpi and submitted on a CD-ROM. No black and white photos will be accepted. No more than 20 entries will be accepted from any one photographer.
By submitting an entry, photographers grant permission to ADCNR to publish winning photos in any publication or on its web site. Appropriate credit will be given where such photos are used. The photographer also retains the right to use the photo. Photos will not be returned.
In addition to having their winning entries printed in Outdoor Alabama magazine, prizes will be awarded to the first place winners in each category. The judges reserve the right to decide whether a category contains work which merits awards.
